GO Month Community Service Project

When: Thu, January 07, 2021 7:00 PM, CST
Where: Virtual/Zoom

January is Get Organized & Be Productive (GO) Month, organized by NAPO to increases general public awareness of what NAPO is and how members impact our client's lives with the services we offer.

To celebrate GO Month in our chapter, we’re teaming up with Business Partner, The Chicago Furniture Bank for a virtual community service project to support their work in the Chicagoland community.

The Chicago Furniture Bank is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that collects donations of gently used furniture and household goods and distributes them to families and individuals transitioning out of shelters and into permanent housing. Together with their partner organizations (that’s us!), CFB helps Chicagoans in need by providing complete furnishing packages that turn empty spaces into comfortable homes.

Early in 2021, CFB will be doubling the square footage of their space, and expanding their capacity to help the community. But, they need our help to develop plans so the new space can be set up for the most efficient and productive use. So we found creative ways to plan and meet virtually, and allow chapter members to share their skills together in this service project with CFB.

Chapter Vice President, Schae Lewis, CPO®, visited the facility for an on-site assessment, and prepared a video introduction and tour of the space. We’ve uploaded a floor plan so you can begin thinking about solutions, and join a Zoom meeting with CFB to brainstorm ideas for their newly expanded space.
